Through the theme of ‘Optimism’, Icograda Design Week Brisbane 2010 will promote dialogue on issues shaping the nature and relevance of communication design practice today.
Optimism 2010 is presented by Icograda in partnership with the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) and will recognise the valuable contribution designers make to delivering benefits and results for business, community and culture. It will showcase businesses that embrace the power of good design to gain a competitive edge. Icograda Design Week Brisbane 2010 will provide a platform for conversation regarding design-led thinking and consciousness for a changing world.

Brisbane will be buzzing from 11–17 October! The week’s events will include a two day international conference, business and design symposium, workshops, design trade fair, exhibitions, Icograda regional meeting, social events and will culminate with the 10th AGDA National Biennial Awards on Saturday 16 October. The AGDA Awards ceremony, presentation dinner and exhibition will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, showcasing the best of Australian communication design.
The main venue for the event will be the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, located in the South Bank precinct across the river from Brisbane’s vibrant city centre. The opening reception for VIP guests and delegates will be hosted at the magnificent Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), centrepiece of Brisbane’s unique cultural precinct. Overlooking the Brisbane River and city skyline, GoMA will provide an unforgettable backdrop and spectacular surroundings to lead into the two day international conference.
Optimism: Icograda Design Week Brisbane 2010 aims to inspire, challenge and engage, to provoke thinking and to create change. Whatever colour, form or function ‘Optimism’ means to you, join designers and colleagues from around the world in celebration of creativity, communication and collaboration.
