Over the past month Chambord’s Council of industry judges and VIP guests have seen the countries hottest emerging designers at Chambord® Shine Awards runway showcases in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. With designers offering incredibly unique esthethic visions from sheer black cocktail dresses resplendant with feathers and crystals to flowing feminine gowns in nude shades, from highly structured gowns in vibrant jewel shades to avant garde designs in dove grey cut-out felt, the judges and voting guests the difficult job of narrowing the 27 competing designers down to ten finalists.

The competition was fiercer than ever this year with Chambord® expanding their grand prize. In addition to the double page spread in marie claire magazine, the prize in previous years, the winning designer will have the opportunity to showcase their creation for 2,000 consumers at the Strand Arcade’s “An Evening with Our Designers”, their winning design will be worn by a fashion forward celebrity during Spring Racing Carnival and they will also be able to show their own collection at Australia’s largest consumer fashion festival in 2011, thanks to Chambord®.

Finalists are George Wu (QLD), Talulah (QLD), Jacqueline Buck Couture (QLD), Anna Campbell (VIC), Jolet (VIC), Limedrop (VIC), LUELA (NSW), Danielle Van Camp (NSW), Lulu in Chains (NSW) and Subfusco (Facebook Wildcard, QLD).

The ten finalists will spend the next seven weeks creating concepts for a Chambord inspired outfit for Spring Racing Carnival complete with headpiece with the unique input of the Chambord® judges. Designers will be given everything they need to bring their design to life to be showcased on the catwalk at the Chambord® Shine AwardsTM final in Sydney’s Historic Strand Arcade on 31st August.

Chambord® Announces partnership with L’ORÉAL Melbourne Fashion Festival

In a year in which they are undergoing significant growth and change, the Chambord® Shine AwardsTM are delighted to announce a partnership with the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Now in its third year the Chambord® Shine AwardsTM program supports and develops Australian fashion designers. With past winners Carl Kapp and design trio AJE going on to great success with their own flagship stores and a list of celebrity clientele.

The finalists have been announced and include George Wu, Jacqueline Buck, Talulah, Anna Campbell, Jolet, Limedrop, LUELA, Danielle Van Camp, Lulu In Chains and Subfusco. The designers have been commissioned to create a Spring Racing Carnival inspired outfit to show at the finals at the Strand Arcade in Sydney on August 31. The overall winning designer will be supported by Chambord® to showcase their designs at LMFF in 2011 in addition to dressing a celebrity for the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

The winning designer will get to show their design to 2,000 consumers at the Strand Arcade’s “An Evening with Our Designers” Wednesday 1st September. The design will be worn by a fashion forward celebrity during Spring Racing Carnival and they will also be on show at the 2011 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, thanks to Chambord®.
