Industrial Design | Where: Sydney, NSW
Industrial designer Dennis Abalos specialises in furniture, lighting, homewares and objects. Since graduating from UTS (University of Technology, Sydney) in 2005, Abalos has worked towards developing his brand, creating prototypes for his designs, and featuring in various competitions and shows such as Workshopped, Launch Pad and IDEA Awards.
“My inspirations come from everywhere and anywhere. I can find inspiration in a toy slinky to a paperclip to elements from nature. When I design I do try and push design and production boundaries whether it is by using a new materials, user interaction and experience or creating unique forms.”
Based in Sydney, Abalos is currently working on concepts for EDRA for a new seating range that utilises natural materials, reed and bamboo with modern metalwork techniques.
