Jordan Blood hails from Sans Souci NSW, but has been living in the UK for a few years now. He is planning on heading back to Oz this year as the British weather has long passed its novelty! He recently finished his MA in Graphic Branding & Identity at the LCC and has updated TGM with one of his latest projects, The Leatherhead Theatre Project.
“The identity was inspired by the internal Brutalist architecture of the theatre which predates the National Theatre and the Barbican Estate in London. I modified Paul Renner’s typeface, Futura, by replacing the vowel letterforms with modernist shapes with the intention of drawing connotations to the theatre’s architectural design.”
A series of posters were also designed to promote the visual language and to create a dialogue between the theatre and its audience. This was achieved by using an excerpt of a famous lyric for the viewer to complete in their mind.
