Magazines / Books | Where: Melbourne, VIC

As I was strolling the packed lanes of the Sydney Design Festival Markets, I came across this stall and was quite intrigued by what they were actually selling. It turns out they were re-made journals, sketchbooks, photo albums, diaries, pocket books, record cards and bookmarks. I love the fact that they are constantly driving to improve the way we do things and minimise our impact on the planet. By using every part of the original book and filling them with blank 100% recycled paper. All processes and machinery are manual and require no power or fuel other than old-fashioned elbow grease. Swing pass the site and you might see an old classic cover from your childhood!

In 2005 when we decided to rescue old and unloved books to create unique stationery in an environmentally responsible way, Rebound was born. We take something old (and likely to end up in landfill) and recreate it as something new and beautiful using 100% recycled paper. Now given a new life, the books can be filled with thoughts, sketches, shopping lists, ideas or photos of your own. Each Rebound Book is handmade, each cover is unique, each page is hand cut and each binding is closed by hand.”
