Studio SKINKY is a design workshop that values items which are well made, express character, simple in design and consider the well-being of our planet. Their work ranges from soft furnishings, furniture and worn accessories, to the fine arts.
“We design things that we want to have but could never find in the stores. Production started from our cute terrace house in 2008, and since then we have made work sometimes using a sewing machine, a power saw and a hammer or glass. We like recycling and we don’t want to contribute unnecessarily to the earths landfill problems. At home we compost, use corn based degradable nappies and reuse our printed material as notepaper. We aim to lessen our impact upon our world, and so we try to only use materials that have been produced either ethically or in a sustainable fashion.”
