Bad Influence is the first collaborative exhibition between Anton Benois and Esjay, two artists working out of Sydney’s famed Worlds End Studio.

Anton Benois is Moscow born, Brooklyn raised and Sydney based. His work is a rendition of a dual mind ripped from behind the iron curtain and planted in the land of make belief. The works he produces based on these early influences are nothing short of an animated cultural revolution. He prefers to work on hand made wooden boxes using acrylics, ink and crumbs of black bread he’s been saving since the cold war. He has exhibited and sold work through group shows at Blank Space, China Heights and Monster Children galleries.

Esjay is a relative new comer to the art scene after years and years of thinking about doing it. He cuts his stencils like his steak - with an exacto knife. Bold Illustrative stencil outlines compliment jagged eye popping colour fills. The works are both highly aesthetic and hauntingly disconserting. Pieces are held in collections spanning from mums fridge all the way to the streets and lane-ways of cities from Sydney to Munich, Cape Town to Mogadishu.
