Beautiful fairy tale like illustrations by Brisbane based artist Courtney Brims. Amazingly, Courtney works almost only with colored pencils, sketching dreamy worlds of lost girls and bewildering creatures.
“I see my pictures as bittersweet, delicate and detailed. They are dreamy and a little dark at times. I like to hope that they fill people with a sense of curiosity and nostalgia.” Courtney Brims

I LOVE Courtney's work !!!
Dear Courtney,
I found your art works on the internet. I was especially inspired by the women emerging from the sea. I am enclosing my writing. I hope you enjoy it.
~Magical Mistress of the Sea~
Turquoise floated on a sea of green, where eyes were lost in calm and serene. Floating murmurs above a depth of thoughts, untangled the locks of the beauty to be caught. Seaweed tresses adorned in light, emerged from a lonely fisherman’s bite; hooked and baited for his heart to see, a magical mistress of the sea. Her hair of copper twisted like a beautiful seaweed ballet; pirouetting above dancing waters, she rose into his day. A bouquet of rainbow fish adorned her sweet splatter, a fisherman’s trophy beyond any heart’s matter. Fair as winter and fresh as spring, she lifted her bounty into his mortality. Sifting through his fisherman’s net, treasures of sea stars and shells shimmered as their watery eyes met. Mixed in the echoes of gulls and of tides, their hearts rose where loving resides. Anchored in a harbor of sweet desire, the sea and the fisherman’s souls conspired. Sea and sky, earth and sand, their love was joined where truth could stand. United in tranquility, were the sun, the moon, the fisherman and his glowing bride, the sea.
